Jelang berakhirnya pemerintahan Presiden Joko Widodo (Jokowi) beserta para menteri kabinetnya, Menteri Perdagangan (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) menyampaikan sejumlah pesan dan pekerjaan rumah (PR) untuk Mendag di masa pemerintahan Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka nanti.
Katanya, Mendag yang menggantikannya nanti harus bekerja keras, serta menjalin kerja sama yang utuh dalam melakukan terobosan-terobosan baru, demi mencapai target Pertumbuhan Ekonomi 8%.
“Target presiden terpilih kan 8%, itu mesti kerja keras, kerja sama melakukan terobosan-terobosan baru,” kata Zulhas saat ditemui di Kantor Kementerian Perdagangan (Kemendag), Jakarta, Jumat (18/10/2024).
Selain itu, Zulhas juga memberikan PR terkait isu perjanjian dagang yang harus semakin digencarkan di pemerintahan berikutnya, supaya Indonesia terbebas dari tarif bea masuk dari negara tujuan ekspor. Salah satunya, dia menyinggung percepatan perundingan perjanjian dagang dengan Uni Eropa atau Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (IEU-CEPA) yang sudah berjalan 8 tahun lalu, sejak 18 Juli 2016 lalu.
“(Perjanjian dagang) itu agar kita bebas dari tarif. Jadi kalau perjanjian dagang itu untuk menghilangkan hambatan perdagangan yang sekarang banyak. IEU-CEPA oleh pemerintahan baru, oleh Mendag berikutnya. (Kenapa terhambat?) karena di sana juga lagi pemerintahan baru,” ujarnya.
Sebagai informasi, Budi Santoso yang saat ini menjabat sebagai Sekretaris Jenderal Kemendag diisukan menjadi sosok yang akan menggantikan Zulhas sebagai Menteri Perdagangan.
Diketahui, Budi Santoso pada hari Senin (14/10/2024) kemarin terpantau ikut dipanggil Prabowo di kediamannya di Kertanegara, Jakarta Selatan bersama calon menteri lainnya. Kemudian, pada hari Rabu (16/10/2024) Budi Santoso juga terlihat mengikuti pembekalan calon menteri di Padepokan Garuda Yaksa, Kecamatan Babakan Madang, Kabupaten Bogor, Provinsi Jawa Barat.
Usai menghadiri pembekalan, Budi Santoso pun merespons pertanyaan wartawan mengenai kepastian posisinya di kabinet Prabowo-Gibran nanti. Namun, Budi hanya tersenyum saat ditanya apakah dirinya akan menjadi Menteri Perdagangan.
